To make something like this:
And this:
1, Make one original bar with all the elements layered on it as you see fit.
I recommend using a rectangular shape layer as the background color base.
After you have completed all the layers as you like:
2, Edit the rectangular shape's
color and save -one after another- the three(or more) color versions
the bar is going to fade to using the same set of layers, preferably
not modified (only the parts you wish the colors to crossfade in,
naturally).
3, in the end you should get three(or more) bars exactly the same except of
course the base color.
4, Get a copy of the Abrosoft Fantamorph software, which is by the way a tool
to make nice morphing animations too, and Create a new project, select Morph
Image 1: Browse to the start colored bar you want to fade from and open it.
Image 2: Browse to the destination colored bar you want to fade to and open it.
Press next, until you reach Add Movie Effects and in the Transition space choose
the one you'd like, you can still change it later in the main window next to the
Preview labeled space on the left, or you can just uncheck it to rather not use
the effect anyway.
Now, all you have to do, is press File > Export Movie
export format should be Image Sequence, this will create 15 (or
specified number of) images, after giving an export filename,
specifying export location, and pressing the magic button
To make things easier later on, I highly recomend
using a filename format like this: 1r-b.BMP (this implies, that this is
the first exported sequence, and is from red to blue. I also highly
advise leting it export in bmp format. The final sequence files will
have a sequence number in them too.)
Now, if you want another color to add to the final sequence, press F3 this
will make the destination colored bar be the start color, and you can select
the next color in the destination space: File > Import Image 2
And again: all you have to do, is press File > Export Movie
export format should be Image Sequence, this will create 15 (or
specified number of) images, after giving an export filename,
specifying export location, and pressing the magic button
Now you have e.g. red -> blue, blue -> white color sequence exported, but,
you will have to make a white -> red
if you don't want any more colors in the final packed sequence. This
will make the crossfading smooth and full. This you can do the same way
as before, press F3 this will make the destination colored bar be the start
color, and you can select the next color in the destination space:
File > Import Image 2 and then File > Export Movie again.
Now you probably have one folder full of images. You now have to press F11
this will open the image sequence packer, which you will use to
finalize the animation, press this button in the lower left corner: [+...]
and select all the images you have exported (hopefully the order will
be right, but in case not, you can select one or more files in the
list, and move them with the [ > ] and [ < ] buttons to get into their right
position. Resulting movie should be GIF animation, and if you're done, press
the Start Pack button, specify the export filename, and you're finished.
Good luck!
